Locks the nut into place so it will not vibrate loose
Retain locking ability up to 250 °F (121 °C)

To prevent or stop galling (also known as seizing or locking-up) on stainless steel fasteners, we recommend using an anti-seize thread lubricant from our line of
MRO Solutions

Stainless Steel fasteners rubbing against each other (during installation) may cause a reaction known as Galling. The chance of galling increases significantly when a nylon insert is added to the nut. To limit the extra friction created by the nylon insert, Waxed Nylon Insert Lock Nuts are also available.

*Even when using Waxed Nylon Insert Lock Nuts, we still recommend using an MRO Anti-Seize Solution to further deter thread galling during any stainless steel fastener installation.
