The increased height delivers greater spring tension and deflection, providing enhanced resistance to loosening caused by vibration, thermal expansion, and dynamic loads. Like standard split lock washers, the high collar design features a single split in the ring that creates two sharp edges—as the fastener is tightened, these edges bite into both the fastener head and the mating surface, creating mechanical resistance to back-off.
