Metric Prevailing Torque Flange Nuts in Class 10.9 Steel (also known as Flange Lock Nuts, All-Metal Locking Flange Nuts, or Stover Flange Nuts) combine the load-distributing benefits of a flange nut with the vibration-resistant properties of a prevailing torque lock nut. The all-metal locking mechanism features a distorted thread portion at the top of the nut that creates friction against the bolt threads, providing consistent resistance to loosening caused by vibration, shock, and dynamic loads, without relying on nylon inserts that can degrade at high temperatures. The integrated flange distributes clamping force over a wider area, eliminating the need for a separate flat washer while reducing the risk of pull-through on softer materials. Manufactured from high-strength Class 10.9 alloy steel with a zinc plated finish for corrosion resistance, these prevailing torque flange nuts are engineered for demanding automotive, heavy equipment, machinery, and industrial applications where both maximum clamping strength and reliable locking performance are critical.
