Stainless Steel fasteners rubbing against each other (during installation) may cause a reaction known as Galling. The chance of galling increases significantly when a nylon insert is added to the nut. To limit the extra friction created by the nylon insert, Waxed Nylon Insert Lock Nuts are also available.

*Even when using Waxed Nylon Insert Lock Nuts, we still recommend using an MRO Anti-Seize Solution to further deter thread galling during any stainless steel fastener installation.
