The term Unistrut is a brand that makes channel strut. Channel is a metal strut that can come in many different forms. From slotted to welded, many are surprised to know that channel strut, while considered to be a somewhat niche because it is not often used outside of the industry, is actually very common in almost all buildings.
Strut is commonly painted to make it less obtrusive to the eye. This paint also acts as a protective layer to prevent corrosion from occurring. Strut is commonly used outside by DIYers to create shelving that can remain outside without corroding.
Some channel comes pre-welded but it can also be done to make custom pieces when necessary. In fact, there are two reasons many professionals and DIYers choose Unistrut over other fastening options: it saves Money and Time.
Unistrut saves time by keeping training very simplistic. Not every member of the team needs to be taught to weld and drill through steel. This factor cuts training down to hours at most meaning a worker can spend less time learning and more time working. Channel strut can save even more money because it is easily adjustable and reusable. If the design isn't going to work, it's not a problem. Just take it down and rebuild it to fit the requirements.
Common Industries That Use Unistrut:
*For Hanging: channel strut is commonly used to hang things from the ceiling. It can commonly be seen in the HVAC industry used with Threaded Rod for most hanging applications.
