hex allen keys, also known as allen wrenches and hex keys, are tools used to tighten, loosen and drive screws and bolts that have a hexagonal socket in the head, also known as an internal-wrenching hexagon drive or hex drive. Socket cap screws, button socket cap screws, socket set screws are examples of allen hex key driven products. Hex keys are available in both short arm and long arm varieties to offer optimal leverage and reach for varying installations. In addition, each hex key has a long arm and a short arm, our product specifications provide the lengths for each arm for your convenience.
Short arm hex keys have a shorter arm than long arm allen wrenches. For example, a 1/4 hex key in short arm has a length of 3.25", while a 1/4 long arm hex key has a length of 5.25", a full 2 inches longer.
