Setting tools are easy to use installation tools for drop-in anchors. Drop-in anchors are female (internal) threaded concrete anchors, often installed overhead that run flush with the surface of concrete or stone. They are for use in flush-mount applications in solid base materials.
Drop-in Anchors should be installed crimped side down into a predrilled hole. The Setting tool is applied to the anchor after it is dropped into the pre-drilled hole. Struck with a hammer, the setting tool completes the expansion of the drop-in anchor once the setting tool's shoulder is flush with the top of the anchor.
All Drop-In Anchor Setting Tools come in zinc plated alloy steel. The Zinc adds a layer of corrosion resistance to the drop-in anchors. Zinc plated steel is not suitable for extreme environment use. Design of Drop-In Anchor Setting tools varies depending on size.
