Reusable Anchors for Drywall, Sheet Rock, Gypsum Board, or Masonry Block
Intended for hollow wall applications, these light to medium-duty toggle bolt anchors use toggle wings to brace against the backside of the hollow material to secure the anchor. Not limited to hollow blocks, these anchors also find use in drywall, sheetrock, or gypsum board.
Kaptoggle anchors are improved versions of butterfly anchors, using similar principles without the issue of losing toggle wings whenever you uninstall the screw or bolt. They are specially designed to keep the toggle wings in place after installation so you can reuse the hole multiple times.
Installing Kaptoggle anchors is quick and simple:
Insert the Kaptoggle into a drilled hole
Pull the Kaptoggle snugly up against the inside wall
Slide the washer piece evenly along the nylon straps until the inner rim of the washer is completely inside the drilled hole
Snap off the plastic straps flush with the washer
Insert the screw or bolt through the fixture you are installing into the Kaptoggle to engage the thread and secure the fixture to the wall
What weight can hollow wall anchors hold?
This will vary based on the size and type of anchor and the thickness of the wall you are installing the anchor into. Most anchors will specify a maximum working load for safe operation, while others may specify shear or tensile strength. Most drywall anchors' actual working load can range from 20lbs to 50lbs or more weight, depending on the application. You'll generally want the load of your application less than the working load for a secure installation. You can find specifications on our hollow wall anchors on their respective pages.
What is the best hollow wall anchor?
Kaptoggle or Snaptoggle, hollow wall anchors are easily some of the strongest hollow wall anchors. They are easy to install, durable, and boast high tensile strength and excellent hold on almost any drywall-like surface. They are even strong enough to be used in hollow concrete blocks for some applications.
Can hollow wall anchors be removed?
They aren't intended to be removed, but they still can be. The method of removing hollow wall anchors usually involves punching it through the wall to fall into the hollow side and patch the hole up. This method will differ depending on the exact hollow wall anchor that's being used.
What is a hollow wall anchor?
Hollow wall anchors are special anchors designed to be used in thin or hollow walls, such as drywall, where simple screws or nails won't be enough to support the weight of the wall hanging. If you want to put up a small, light-weight painting, something as simple as thumbtacks may do. But if you want to install something more weighty, such as a TV, and there aren't any wall studs where you want to put said TV, that kind of situation would call for using a hollow wall anchor.
