    Self Drilling Drywall Anchors

Time Saving Anchors in Plastic or Zinc Designed for Anchoring to Drywall

When anchoring to walls, you won't be able to always screw into a stud. When studs aren't available, you would have to use a drywall anchor. Drywall anchors typically expand behind each board of drywall, gypsum board, or sheetrock to prevent pullout of a screw. This would keep pictures, curtain rods, mirrors, or other light-duty materials hanging up on the wall.

Standard drywall anchors require a multi-step process of drilling a hole, hammering in a plastic anchor, and then using a sheet metal screw to anchor the wall's hardware or material. Self Drilling Drywall Anchors eliminate the first and second steps. They feature a self-drilling point and deep cutting threads to allow for one-step installation using a standard cordless drill, saving time and frustration. Drywall anchors in this selection feature a #2 Phillips drive for installation that can also be utilized to remove the anchor if needed.

    FAQs

What is a self drilling anchor?

A self-drilling anchor is an anchor that does not need a pre-drilled hole to be installed into a base material. As a result, these are the easiest and simplest drywall anchors to use. These kinds of anchors are intended for drywall or gypsum board and can work with any base materials' thickness. They are typically used with sheet metal screws to secure fixtures to walls quickly.

How much weight can a self drilling anchor hold?

Self-drilling anchors are rated to hold weights from 25 to 50 pounds, depending on the anchor's size and application.

How do you use self tapping anchors??

Attach the anchor to the end of a bit or screwdriver and fasten it into the drywall. There is no need for a pilot hole. Once the self-drilling anchor is flush with the drywall surface, you can fasten a fixture to it using a sheet metal screw.

Can you put in a wall anchor without a drill?

Yes. Self-drilling anchors can easily be used without a drill. Instead of using a drill with a bit, a simple screwdriver can fasten the anchor to the wall.
