A Post Base Anchor is used to secure wood posts to concrete footings. They are specifically designed to attach a deck's support posts to the top of a concrete footing pier or slab. Post base anchors are intended to be used with concrete anchors (usually wedge anchors) to complete the secure assembly.
Half post base anchors are weaker than traditional post base anchors. They are used to secure intermediate posts between fully anchored corner and end posts in rail systems.
All Decking Post Base Anchors in this selection are made of 316 Stainless Steel for superior corrosion resistance. 316 Stainless Steel is well suited for applications in severe, harsh, or marine environments.

Not recommended for fence posts or other unrestrained (not fixed or fastened at top) applications. These anchors are not designed to resist overturning (moment) loads.
Post bases are pieces of decking hardware designed to attach a deck's support posts to the top of a concrete footing pier or slab. They typically have a bottom compartment covering the head of a concrete anchor, usually a wedge anchor, so that the wood post can sit evenly on the post base. Post bases help to set the foundations of most decks.
First, you'll need to use a hammer drill to drill the hole for your anchor. Assuming the anchor is a wedge or sleeve anchor, insert and set the anchor with a hammer. Place the post base over the set anchor and use the provided nut and washer that came with the anchor to secure the anchor and postbase together. Lastly, set the post on top of the post base and use the open holes in the postbase's side flanges to fasten the wood post to the post base anchor.
