Hex Tap Bolts
Fully Threaded Hex Bolts in Zinc Plated Grade 2 Steel
Hex tap bolts are also know as tap screws and are used in applications where the shank is fully threaded to the underside of the hex head. Hex tap bolts have less strength then hex cap screw due to the full thread. Tap bolts are also like over-sized machine screws with larger hex heads for strength.
Hex Tap Bolts, commonly referred to as Hex Bolts, or simply Tap Bolts are hex head bolts with a full thread (tip to underneath head) regardless of the bolt length. Hex Tap Bolts differ from Hex Cap Screws in that Hex Cap Screws fully threaded in shorter lengths (usually around up to 1-1/2 inch, depending upon the bolt diameter), and partially threaded with a shoulder beneath the fastener hex head in longer lengths. Zinc plated Grade 2 Hex Tap Bolts are distinguished by having no hash markings on the hex head.
